Job Summary

Aptive seeks an experienced Project Manager to support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) in executing the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) Restructure for Impact and Sustainability Effort (RISE). This role supports enterprise-wide transformation initiatives focused on improving organizational alignment, operational efficiency, and delivery of high-quality care to Veterans. The Project Manager works closely with stakeholders across VHA, including program leadership and subject matter experts, to ensure project initiatives are executed consistently and in accordance with VA standards and enterprise objectives.

 

Primary Responsibilities

The Project Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining detailed project plans, schedules, and tracking mechanisms to ensure timely delivery deliverables. This includes managing milestones, dependencies, risks, and issues; facilitating working sessions and stakeholder meetings; and producing project artifacts such as dashboards, status reports, and executive briefings. The role also supports functional assessments of current project structures, analyzes workflows and capability gaps, and recommends process improvements to enhance efficiency and clarity in roles and responsibilities.

 

In this role, the Project Manager collaborates with program analysts, technical writers, and SMEs to ensure coordinated execution of project initiatives and effective communication across stakeholders. Responsibilities include monitoring project performance, supporting risk mitigation strategies, maintaining documentation and version control, and providing leadership with timely updates on progress, risks, and outcomes.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business, or related field
  • 4+ years of experience in federal project management
  • Experience supporting program management, reporting, and governance processes
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Legal Authorization to work in the U.S.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience supporting Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) or Veterans Health Administration (VHA) initiatives
  • Familiarity with federal healthcare environments and transformation programs
  • Experience supporting contract financial tracking and reporting
  • Certification such as PMP, CPA, or similar relevant credential
