Job Summary

Artemis is seeking a Media Relations Analyst with demonstrated experience tracking, managing, and logging incoming and outgoing media inquiries; providing regular metrics and analytics on media relations and press coverage; and compiling and distributing press clips on a daily basis. This individual will also be responsible for drafting press release, public affairs guidance, and other media relations products.

 

The Media Relations Analyst role requires a self-starter, proactive problem solver and action-oriented team player with previous experience in federal contracting, preferably with military clients. This position needs an individual that is committed to providing superior service, poised under pressure and has a positive and flexible attitude.

 

This is a contingent hire position.

 

This position is currently slated to be on site in Washington, DC. Remote work may be considered at a future date. Travel to support client engagements may be required. Because press clips are due at 9 a.m., early morning working hours may be required.

 
The expected compensation at the time of requisition creation, is between $100,000 and $110,000.  The position offers with medical, dental and vision coverage.  Additional benefits such as 401K, disability insurance and PTO are provided as well.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Track, manage, and log incoming and outgoing media inquiries.
  • Provide regular metrics and analytics on media relations functions and press coverage.
  • Compile and distribute press clips on a daily basis.
  • Assist with drafting press release, public affairs guidance, and other media relations products.
  • Support strategic communications, digital marketing, social media, and video production development, as needed or as requested.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience with a bachelor’s degree in business, communications, media, or a related field OR 2 years of experience with a master’s degree or higher.
  • Demonstrated understanding of and experience with media relations and associated analytics.
  • Proven experience with industry-standard media metrics and monitoring tools (e.g., Cision, Meltwater, Muck Rack).
  • Strategic thinker with a forward-looking approach to marketing trends and technologies.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically.
  • Ability to manage competing deadlines.
  • Experience supporting complex projects and transformation efforts within the federal government.
  • Comfortability with supporting complex client relationships.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
