Job Summary

Artemis is seeking a Lead Communications Analyst to oversee development of communications products for the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) Chief Strategy Office (CSO). The Lead Communications Analyst will manage the writing, editing and dissemination of products related to planning and facilitating organizational leadership planning meetings as well as analyzing, disseminating and communicating organization outcomes and objectives in support of CSO’s mission. This individual will also develop products relating to Policy Services (PS) support tasks such as developing scenario-based white papers; drafting research papers; and monitoring and interpreting developments in legislation, regulation and judicial decisions that impact Veteran health care and the national health care system.

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Write, edit and manage a broad range of print and digital communications materials.
  • Translate complex messaging into plain language to ensure materials are easy to read, understand and use.
  • Gather, analyze, fact check and interpret data from various sources.
  • Implement edits provided by clients and other team members effectively and quickly.
  • Ensure content conveys critical information and reflects key messaging in a standardized and consistent voice and tone.
  • Develop themes, concepts, messaging and distribution tactics for materials.
  • Plan, generate and deliver client-ready materials for stakeholders, including client leadership.
  • Write, review and edit content in compliance with Associated Press style and other federal content guidelines.
  • Review documents for stylistic and formatting consistency.
  • Support other duties and assignments as required by CSO.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5 years of related experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in communication, marketing, English, journalism or a related field.
  • Experience supporting complex projects within the federal government, preferably with VHA.
  • Demonstrated experience writing and editing plans, policies, articles, newsletters, news releases, training materials, brochures, interpretive handbooks, pamphlets, guidebooks, scripts, speeches, presentations and more.
  • Experience managing records in a collaboration space (e.g., SharePoint).
  • Ability to develop materials in both print and digital format.
  • Experience conducting research; drafting scenario-based white papers; collaborating with senior health care leaders; and monitoring and interpreting policy.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.

Client Information

CSO serves as a key strategic advisor to the Executive in Charge, Deputy Under Secretary, VHA Program Offices, Veteran Integrated Service Networks, and VA medical centers. We also develop policy, programs and fund initiatives within VA that advance the health of Veterans in rural America. The mission of the Office is to integrate strategy, information and insight to enable VHA to provide industry-leading health care to Veterans.
