Job Summary

Argent ARC is hiring a Lead Full-Stack / DevSecOps Engineer to architect and run the serverless AWS GovCloud stack that powers DoDEA’s NDSP Community Profiles platform. You’ll design, build, and operate cloud-native services that are fast, resilient, and secure, ensuring pubic users and staff can access critical information anytime, anywhere. You’ll pair hands-on coding (React, TypeScript, AWS, IaC) with automated pipelines and security scans to deliver frequent, zero-downtime releases. You care about technology that improves people’s lives, yet know when simplicity beats complexity. Your standards for reliability, accessibility, and inclusive design will help set the bar for the entire engineering team. This is a full-time, contingent hire.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Design and build cloud-native architecture in AWS GovCloud, using infrastructure-as-code (CDK, Terraform) to create secure, scalable services.
  • Develop full-stack features with React + TypeScript on the front end and serverless or container-based microservices (Node.js, Python, or Java) on the back end.
  • Own the CI/CD pipeline. Automate builds, tests, security scans, and blue-green or canary deployments to enable frequent, zero-downtime releases.
  • Build and maintain the multi-format content-publishing workflow (Markdown → HTML/PDF/SCORM) used by the Digital Content team.
  • Embed security and compliance controls (FedRAMP Moderate, NIST RMF, DISA STIG, Section 508) into every stage of the software-delivery lifecycle.
  • Monitor performance and reliability; use metrics and observability tooling to keep latency low, uptime high, and issues resolved quickly.
  • Lead the 60-day cloud migration and future releases, coordinating cut-over plans, validating data integrity, and documenting runbooks for operations.
  • Mentor engineers and champion best practices. Code reviews, pair programming, test automation, and DevSecOps culture across the team.
  • Partner with product, design, cybersecurity, and data teams to refine requirements, weigh trade-offs, and deliver user-centered solutions.
  • Troubleshoot production incidents; perform root-cause analysis and drive continuous improvements in reliability and security.
  • Communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, preparing architecture diagrams, status updates, and briefings as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 8 + years building and operating cloud-hosted web services.
  • 3 + years leading or mentoring full-stack or DevSecOps teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Deep hands-on experience with AWS (GovCloud preferred) and infrastructure-as-code tools such as CDK or Terraform.
  • Proven full-stack skills: React + TypeScript front-ends and back-end services in js, Python, or Java, with solid test coverage.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and run CI/CD pipelines that embed automated tests, security scans, and blue-green or canary deployments (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc.).
  • Working knowledge of FedRAMP Moderate controls, NIST RMF, DISA STIGs, and Section 508/WCAG accessibility requirements.
  • Clear, pragmatic communicator; able to present architecture decisions and trade-offs to engineers, product managers, and senior government stakeholders.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.

Desired Qualifications

  • Prior experience supporting Federal or DoD cloud programs.
  • Advanced AWS credentials: Solutions Architect Professional and/or DevOps Engineer Professional.
  • Demonstrated success guiding systems through FedRAMP Moderate / DoD IL-4 ATO and DISA STIG hardening.
  • Deep hands-on experience with serverless and container platforms (Lambda, Fargate, EKS) and IaC frameworks (CDK, Terraform).
  • Background building low-latency geospatial features (Mapbox, Leaflet, or similar).
  • Familiarity with DORA/Accelerate metrics and SRE practices for improving lead-time, MTTR, and reliability.
  • Strong record mentoring distributed teams and collaborating across multiple contractor and government stakeholders.
