Job Summary

Artemis is seeking a Digital Media Planner to be a part of a dynamic team working across a range of federal government strategic communications, advertising and outreach programs. If you love paid media and have a unique understanding of the digital marketing landscape, we want to talk to you.

 

This position will support media planning/strategy within our analytically minded media department on specific contracts. The ideal candidate is both creatively minded and performance driven and can bring strong capabilities in the areas of negotiation, and cross channel optimization.

 

Applicants should have proven experience in paid digital advertising including programmatic, social and search, and an aptitude for analyzing data and identifying performance trends. This individual collaborates with client teams to develop paid media plans across all marketing channels based on clients’ strategic goals and target audiences, and then follows through with negotiation, implementation, optimization and reporting. This position requires experience with digital marketing, Demand-Side Platform (DSP) and web analytics. Traditional media planning experience is a plus.

 

This is a contingent hire position.

 

This position is remote. However, travel for occasional in-person meetings may be required.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Understand client goals and develop measurable digital marketing strategies and appropriate Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to achieve them.
  • Develop media plans and implement media buys across a multitude of digital media channels including display, mobile, video, programmatic, site-direct and social media.
  • Conduct media, industry and audience research to develop compelling, accurate and targeted advertising and marketing plans.
  • Be the day-to-day contact for media vendors and aid in the management of general media department solicitations.
  • Issue purchase orders for approved media insertion or placement and maintain/update as needed.
  • Cross-reference and approve media invoices to be processed and ensure timely payment.
  • Conduct buying, negotiating, implementation and optimization across multiple campaigns and clients on an ongoing basis.
  • Seek new digital advertising opportunities to stay ahead of the curve; enhance individual, team and client learning; and improve client campaigns.
  • Support new business and proposal efforts with paid media research and content.
  • Present recommendations to clients.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience in hands-on digital media planning and buying experience (ad agency or internal marketing role across paid digital advertising channels including social, search, native and programmatic display (including audio and video).
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Programmatic and DSP buying experience.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Management of paid social campaigns using Facebook Business Manager, Twitter Ads and other social channels.
  • Working knowledge of ad serving tools (Google Campaign Manager).
  • Knowledge of traditional media such as out-of-home, TV and radio a plus.
  • Working understanding of Google Tag Manager, use of Ad tags, event tracking and conversion optimization.
  • Experience running Search Engine Marketing (SEM) campaigns through Google and Bing.
  • Experience with emerging digital media including digital audio streaming and connected TV.
  • Mastery of web analytics tools, such as Google Analytics.
  • Exceptional analytical, data interpretation, problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • Ability to get up to speed quickly on complex issues; desire to work in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
  • Proficient in Office 365 including Excel for data analysis and familiarity with dashboard development.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

  • Experience serving as the primary lead and point of contact on social media planning and engagement within a large federal agency.
  • Excellent time management, creative, and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfort with working in a largely remote environment.
