Job Summary

Artemis is seeking a full-time Communications Specialist with demonstrated experience developing a variety of products for senior executives in the federal sector. The ideal candidate will be adept at translating complex information into plain language that can be easily understood by both technical and non-technical audiences. The Communications Specialist will write and edit copy for a variety of products, including but not limited to, speeches, briefings, presentations, fact sheets, user guides, toolkits and more. This role also involves meeting with stakeholders and subject matter experts to prepare notes from high-level technical meetings, as well as preparing technical documents and reports tailored to meet audience needs, ensuring content is accurate and error-free. The Communications Specialist will control the quality of deliverables across the contract and oversee the preparation of materials for client review and processing.

 

The Communications Specialist role requires a self-starter, proactive problem solver, and action-oriented team player with previous experience in management consulting. This position needs an individual that is committed to providing superior service, poised under pressure and has a positive and flexible attitude.

 

This is a contingent hire position.

 

This position is remote. However, travel for occasional in-person meetings may be required.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Support executive communication creation for all technology modernization activities, ensuring consistency of message, accuracy of information and appropriate structure of the product.
  • Provide communication and strategic change management support to senior executives and other subject matter experts through the development of briefing notes, presentations and other marketing artifacts.
  • Participate in meetings, briefings and other strategic engagements.
  • Apply human-centered design (HCD) best practices to facilitate stakeholder engagement and feedback collection sessions.
  • Translate complex information into plain language that can be easily understood by technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Write and edit copy for a variety of products, including speeches, briefings, presentations, toolkits, user guides, quick reference guides and more.
  • Meet with stakeholders and subject matter experts to prepare notes from high-level technical meetings.
  • Prepare technical documents and reports, tailoring materials to meet audience needs and ensuring content is accurate and error-free.
  • Control the quality of publications and oversee the preparation of materials for client review and processing.
  • Ensure all products align with client style guides and federal plain language standards.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3 years of experience in a strategic writer/editor role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience working with federal clients and C-level executives.
  • Proven experience writing and editing a variety of communications products, ensuring clarity and accessibility for diverse audiences.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically.
  • Ability to manage competing deadlines.
  • Experience supporting complex projects and transformation efforts within the federal government.
  • Comfortability with supporting complex client relationships.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
